Donnie, a FBI undercover agent is about to do unlawful things only to prove himself as a mob. Donnie meets Lefty, a middle grade mobster, and tries to get under his skin, but a true friendship is created. Throughout the movie, their friendship is put to test, and each of them show they care for the other.

The movie presents pieces of Lefty’s life, his feelings towards his son, his love and care for his wife, as when he thinks he’s about to die, Lefty leaves his few valuable things at home. His capability of forgiving Donnie for being a FBI undercover agent, puts him in the light of a person who thinks more than just money.

Donnie’s feelings for his family during his undercover time, the fact that he misses valuable moments from his children’s life, shows his struggle between being a good father and husband, a good policeman and a friend and saviour for his friend Lefty.
